Dane Christian Joseph in his fifth year with the Pacific women’s soccer program and his second as associate head coach after spending the previous few years as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division I Level.
Along with his coaching duties, Joseph serves as an assistant professor for Pacific’s Department of Sociology. He teaches social statistics, a junior research seminar, as well as in the freshman year seminar program. He earned both his doctorate in education psychology, as well as his master’s in philosophy from Washington State University.
Joseph coached at Oregon State in 2008 and spent the previous two seasons as an assistant at Washington State, where he helped coach the Cougars to wins against nationally ranked foes in Southern California and Oklahoma State. Joseph helped mentor WSU standouts Carly Dobratz and Kiersten Dallstream, who went on to play professionally in the WPS.
At the club level, Joseph enjoyed success coaching the FC Willamette Girls’ 1994 Pursuit team that advanced to two Oregon State Cup quarterfinals appearances. He has also spent two seasons coaching the Moscow United Boys’ 1990 team from 2006 to 2007, as well as the 1994 U-17 Swat team for the Westside Metros Soccer Club in 2011.
A four-year collegiate player at NCAA Division III Concordia (Wis.), Joseph, a 2003 graduate of Concordia (Wis.), went on to play with the Atlanta Silverbacks Reserve squad of the United Soccer Leagues’ Premier Development League (PDL). In 2001, he was called to play in a number of matches for his native Trinidad & Tobago’s U-23 national team.
Joseph has earned a Premier Diploma and Goalkeeper Level II certification from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and serves as an Associate staff coach for NSCAA coaching courses. Joseph is married to Morgan Joseph, Pacific’s head women’s soccer coach.
