Biography
2012-13: Finished with a 22-13 overall record and a 22-12 mark at 165 pounds…Compiled an 11-4 dual meet record…Finished fourth in the 165-pound bracket at the NCAA West Regional Championship…Placed fourth at 165 pounds at the Southern Oregon Open on 11/18/12 and fifth place at the Clackamas Open on 1/20/13…One of three Pacific wrestlers to amass 20 or more wins on the season…Dropped third place match at Southern Oregon Open in close 4-1 decision to Stanford’s Peter Galli…Was only Pacific wrestler to win all four matches at December’s Wartburg Desert Duals, starting a six-match win streak…Rebounded from first round loss to advance to the third place final at NCAA West Regional before falling to Augsburg’s Justin Bowland.
2011-12: Finished with a 12-14 record at 165 pounds…Was the Boxers’ regular starter in duals at the weight class…Placed second at the season-opening Boxer Open on 11/6/11…Went 3-1 in the tournament and lost 3-2 to San Francisco State’s Isaiah Jimenez in the final…Placed second at the Oregon Collegiate Open on 12/3/11…Won two matches to advance to the final before losing 7-4 to Stanford’s Kyler Hasson…Led Boxers with 3-1 record at Wartburg Desert Duals on 12/16/11, which included a pin of Wartburg’s Brett Yankovich…Had three-match win streak in January and at one point won five in a string of seven matches beginning at the Desert Duals.
2010-11: Finished season with 10-14 record at 165 pounds…Finished with third most wins for the Boxers, which included eight wins by decision and two pins…Went 2-2 in dual meets…Earned first collegiate win with a 6-5 decision over San Francisco State’s A.J. Simon at the Mike Clock Open…Went 2-2 at NCAA Great Lakes Regional, defeating J. Brendemuehl of Maranatha Baptist and Josh Hotta of Chicago.
High School: Wrestled for Doug Maddox at South Umpqua High School…One time conference champion…2009: Finished fourth in Oregon State Championship at 135-pounds…2010: Finished 6th at state at 145-pounds…Also participated in varsity cross country, track and football.
