Alex Brown was named the head coach of the Pacific University women's basketball program in July 2026 after helping engineer one of the Northwest Conference's fastest turnarounds during three seasons as an assistant coach at George Fox.

Brown arrives in Forest Grove after playing a key role in transforming the Bruins into one of the conference's premier programs. Following a six-win campaign in 2023-24, George Fox advanced to back-to-back Northwest Conference Tournament championship games in 2025 and 2026.

Before George Fox, Brown served as the head coach of the Mt. Hood Community College women's basketball program for two seasons.

Brown began his coaching career as a volunteer staff member for the University of Portland Women's basketball team in the 2016-2017 season. He later became the Director of Operations for the Pilots in 2017-2018. From 2018 to 2020, Brown served as an assistant coach at Warner Pacific. 

Off the court, Brown resides in Portland with his wife, Amber, and two sons.
