Dr. Bettencourt joined the Pacific Athletic Training medical staff in 2013. He currently works in sports medicine, fracture management, interventional and regenerative medicine with Orthopedic and Fracture Specialists in Portland.
He previously was a physician in primary care sports medicine with Kaiser Permanente and has been an assistant/affiliate instructor at Oregon Health and Science University and the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine, where he obtained his family medicine training at the University of South Alabama, where he then went on to do a sports medicine fellowship.
Dr. Bettencourt graduated from UC-Davis with his bachelor's degree in neurobiology and physiology and his doctorate of medicine from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He also serves as Team Physician for University of Portland Athletics (soccer and basketball) and Portland Community College (soccer).
