Philip Lentz is in his 13th year as an assistant athletic trainer at Pacific. He joined the program in June 2007.

At Pacific, Lentz is instrumental in the training coverage of the Boxer baseball and men's basketball programs as well as he assists with the football program, too. 

Prior to coming to Pacific, he served two seasons as a graduate assistant trainer at Western Oregon University in Monmouth. Lentz worked primarily with the Wolves' football, women's soccer and baseball programs while working towards his master's degree. Prior to his work at WOU, he spent four years at George Fox University as a student assistant trainer, and primarily worked with the men's basketball, volleyball and track and field squads. In 2004, Lentz spent one season as a student assistant at Portland State, working with the football program.

In addition to his university work, Lentz has worked such events as the OSAA/U.S. Bank High School Track and Field Championships, the Les Schwab Bowl high school football all-star game and the prestigious Les Schwab Invitational boys' basketball tournament.

Lentz earned his master's degree in sports medicine from Oregon State in 2007. He earned his bachelor's degree in health and human performance (athletic training emphasis) from George Fox in 2005. 

He lives in Hillsboro with his wife, Jamie, and their son Austin. Â
