Rob Hutchins is in his first season as a Defensive Edge and Leadership Coach at Pacific University.  He brings a wealth of athletic and leadership achievement as a two time all state high school linebacker and discus state champion, in college as a linebacker for a two time Big 8 conference championship team ultimately winning the national championship, followed by a 32 year career in the corporate world as a leader and developing leaders.  Rob grew up in the Midwest and Rocky Mountain states, earning a bachelor degree at the University of Colorado.  He attributes many leadership and life lessons to his time spent with a team that ascended the pinnacle of college sports.  Rob is a devout Christian, have founded and frequently facilitating a men’s Christian group- “Iron Sharpeners”.  He currently lives in Portland Oregon with his wife Brigitte where they have raised 3 great kids.  They love spending time with their kids and granddaughter plus another on the way- in Maui, Seattle, and Central Oregon.    

  • College Football career- University of Colorado 1986-90, playing Linebacker and Special Teams,  1989 and 1990 Big 8 Champions, 1990 National Champions.
  • 32 year career with Gallo and Gallo Distributors most in various leadership roles, the last 8 years in a National Director role developing leaders.
  • Graduate- Rapport Leadership- Leadership Breakthrough, Franklin Covey- Great Leaders Great Teams Great Results, and Human Performance Institute- Corporate Athlete.
  • Philosophy- Each of our Student Athletes will go pro in life.  Develop leadership that will benefit our student athletes on our football team and life beyond football.
