Rylan Ma’ae enters his first season with Pacific University as a Defensive Assistant Intern Coach. Ma’ae previously played linebacker for the Pacific Boxers, starting during the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
Prior to joining Pacific, Ma’ae played linebacker at New Mexico Military Institute, where he was a member of the 2021 National Championship team and 2022 Conference Championship team. During his two seasons at Pacific, he recorded 82 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, one interception returned for a touchdown, and one blocked field goal.
Beyond football, Ma’ae was actively involved with Pacific's Na Haumana ‘O Hawai’i club, serving as a board member for two years. He also contributed to the university’s cultural programming by instructing Siva, Fa’ataupati, and Couples for the 2025 and 2026 Pacific University Luau and Ho’ike.
Drawing from his collegiate playing experience and leadership in both athletics and cultural organizations, Ma’ae brings a strong foundation of football knowledge, leadership, discipline, and commitment to developing student-athletes on and off the field.
