Alecia (Wilson) Parker enters her seventh season as head women's basketball coach at Pacific University after being named head coach on April 11, 2018.
In 2023-24, Parker led the Boxers to their third straight appearance in the Northwest Conference championship game.
Over the past four seasons, Pacific is 46-18 in the NWC under Parker.
Parker coached Northwest Conference Player of the Year, Camy Aguinaldo, who scored nearly 2,000 points (1,994) in her career and later received Third Team All-American honors from D3hoops.com.
Parker and the Boxers had a breakthrough season in 2019-20, posting a 17-9 overall record and 11-5 to finish second in the Northwest Conference and earn an appearance in the NWC Tournament for the first time since 2009. The Boxers hosted the first round of the NWC Tournament, their first playoff home game since 1996. While the winning record was the first since the 2012-13 season.
The 2019-20 season included several big accomplishments including the programs first win over a Division II program (exhibition - 73-68 win at Western Oregon), longest win streak in 20+ years (9-game win streak) and first NWC "Freshman of the Year" in program history as Brilie Kovaloff earned the honors.
Prior to Pacific, Parker spent four years as an assistant women's basketball coach at Whitworth University. With the Pirates, she has been involved in multiple aspects of the program including recruiting, management of the offense, film and scouting as well as strength and conditioning. Twice, Whitworth reached the Northwest Conference Tournament semifinals and won 61% of their contests overall during her four seasons with the Pirates and had the schools longest win streak her first season on staff.
Parker began her coaching career as an assistant at Carroll College in Helena, MT. She was involved in the skill development with the guards, organizing travel recruiting and monitoring academic success.
She was a four-year letterwinner and start with the University of Montana Western basketball program and was a three-year captain. As a senior, she was an honorable mention all-conference selection and as a junior, she led the Frontier Conference in assists, despite playing most of the year as a power forward.
Parker completed her master's degree from Whitworth in counseling in 2018 and earned her bachelor's degree from Montana Western in psychology.
Parker lives in Forest Grove with her two sons, Liam and Christian.
