FOREST GROVE – In a pounding Oregon rain, the Pacific women's lacrosse team poured past the Augsburg Auggies for a 17-6 victory at Hanson Stadium, led by four goal outings from
Paisley Hiefield and
Amy Mayhugh.

It took just 14 seconds for Mayhugh (Sr., Tigard, Ore.) get the scoring started as she grabbed the opening draw and went straight to the cage and scored.
April Lanz (So., Oregon City, Ore.) joined in on the scoring with 27:49 on the clock to give Pacific a 2-0 lead.

Abby Talboy (Jr., Boise, Idaho) collected a ground ball after a free position shot from Mayhugh clanged off the post. Talboy got the ball back to Mayhugh, who dished to
Meg Chapman (So., Woodinville, Wash.) and the reigning- NWC Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week notched her ninth goal of the season.

The Boxer lead extended to 4-0 when Hiefield (So., Portland, Ore.) tallied on a free position opportunity with 25:12 left in the first period.

Following a scoreless period of five minutes, Mayhugh and Hiefield scored back-to-back goals within 40 seconds of one another. Mayhugh grabbed the ensuing draw control before the ball ended up in Hiefield's possession before Hiefield put the ball in the back of the cage for the eventual game winning goal at 18:53 in the half.

An Augsburg timeout was followed by a period of three minutes without a goal, but
Krista Cave (Fr., Martinez, Calif.) collected a pass from Talboy and scored her first collegiate goal, which gave Pacific an 8-0 lead.

Pacific's scoring streak reached 11 with a pair of goals from Lanz and a solo strike from Mayhugh. Augsburg pulled one goal back from the Boxers with 1:35 left in the first half.
Nicki Leeming (Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.) scored the final goal of the half when she tallied off an assist from Lanz.

Augsburg came out of the halftime break with a goal from Brion Shelby, which was followed by a goal from Talboy that gave Pacific a 13-2 lead. A third Auggies goal was quickly was followed by a three-goal run from the Boxers, as Mayhugh,
Brittney Bardin (Fr., Albany, Ore.) and Leeming all scored before Brion scored again for the Auggies.

Pacific's final goal of the evening came with 3:22 left in regulation when Hiefield scored her fourth goal of the night. Helena Nguyen and Dezera Sieracki scored the last two goals of the game before Chapman grabbed a draw control with two seconds left and time expired on a 17-6 Boxers victory.

Hiefield and Mayhugh both finished with four goals, while Lanz posted a three-goal outing. Leeming tallied a pair of goals on the evening, as the group of Cave, Chapman, Talboy and Bardin all finished with one goal each.

Lanz added three assists to her three goals, while Talboy and Mayhugh both notched two assists in the game.

Hiefield led Pacific off the draw with seven draw controls. Mayhugh and Chapman finished with five draw controls and four draw controls, respectively.

Adrienne Salzwedel (So., Beaverton, Ore.) earned the victory in goal for Pacific, with two saves and three ground ball pickups.

Pacific plays host to Calvin on Thursday evening, with a 6 p.m. scheduled first draw.
