Pair Nets Four As Boxers Clinch Conference Title

FOREST GROVE – The Pacific women's lacrosse team earned sole possession of the Northwest Conference women's lacrosse title on Sunday as four goal outings from Nicki Leeming and Amy Mayhugh paced Pacific in an 18-5 home victory over Linfield.

The scoring got started for Pacific in with 27:26 on the clock as Leeming (Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.) scored an unassisted goal, which set Pacific off on a 4-0 run to open the game. Pacific's second goal came from Mayhugh (Sr., Tigard, Ore.) as Leeming netted the Boxers' third and Paisley Hiefield (So., Portland, Ore.) struck for the fourth.

Leeming's second goal of the game came off an assist from Abby Talboy (Jr., Boise, Idaho), while Hiefield's first was assisted by April Lanz (So., Oregon City, Ore.).

Mayhugh scored three of Pacific's final five opening half goals, while Hiefield scored the final goal of the period to send the Boxers to halftime with a 15-2 lead.

Leeming assisted on Krista Cave's (Fr., Martinez, Calif.) goal, which opened second half scoring and put Pacific up 16-2. The margin narrowed midway through the second half as Linfield scored twice, but Leeming would net goals 17 and 18 for Pacific to round out the Boxers scoring on the day.
