Kanani Kea (Fr., Mililani, Hawaii) picked up victories in both singles and doubles Sunday as Pacific returned to the win column with a 5-4 win over Willamette in Northwest Conference women's tennis action at the Holce Tennis Courts.

Kea picked up her fourth doubles victory of the season and her third with
Sidney Smith (Fr., Olympia, Wash.) to lead a solid start in doubles, downing Emily Emily Guimont and Ellen Rumley in the No. 2 match, 8-1. Kea then added the most decisive singles match of the day at No. 5, downing Katie Adams 6-1, 6-3 to improve to 6-9 on the season.

"Today was a great win for the Boxers," said Pacific assistant coach
Karen Wells. "Willamette is a solid team, but going up 2-1 in doubles gave us the momentum. I'm very proud of the way our team played and supported each other today."

Carlee Rhodaback (Jr., Albany, Ore.) and
Danielle Wicks (Jr., Phoenix, Ariz.) picked up Pacific's other doubles victory, downing Adams and Ashley Evans 8-4 in the No. 3 flight. Denise Poltavski and Mikaila Smith prevented the Pacific sweep as they edge out
Jelena Vidovic (Fr., Vancouver, Wash.) and
Mai Kobayashi (Fr., Waikoloa, Hawaii) 9-7 in the No. 1 match.

Vidovic recovered well in singles, taking the No. 1 match from Poltavski 6-1, 6-2 to run her singles record to an impressive 14-1 on the season. Kobayashi closed out the match for the Boxers as she scored a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Rumley at No. 3.

Mikaila Smith won at No. 2 for Willamette, defating
Sidney Smith 6-0, 6-1. Guimont was a 6-1, 6-3 winner over Rhodaback at No. 4 and Evans recovered from a set down to beat Wicks in the No. 6 flight, 3-6, 6-0, 10-3.

With the win, Pacific improved to 6-9, 3-8 NWC. Willamette dropped to 2-15, 1-9 NWC. Pacific will close out their 2015 season at home next Sunday, hosting Lewis & Clark. The match will begin at 11 a.m.
