SPOKANE, Wash. — On the first leg of a two-game trip to eastern Washington, the Pacific men's soccer team dropped a 7-0 decision to host Whitworth on Saturday.
 
The Pirates scored twice in the opening 16 minutes, before adding a third goal late in the first period and four tallies in the second period.
 
Junior goalkeeper Leyton Thommasen (Des Moines, Wash.) recorded four saves, while sophomore Alex Pells (Spokane, Wash.) recorded one in the second half.
 
Whitworth's Moi Diaz recorded a hat trick for the Pirates, while the remaining four goals were each scored by different players.
 
Pacific gets an opportunity to rebound on Sunday against Whitman, with a 2:30 p.m. kickoff in Walla Walla, Wash.
