Closer
Cody Ahlgrimm came in to put out that fire, surviving a bases loaded set-up and a 3-2 count. He then coaxed Sean Shepherd into a pop out to end the inning. He followed that with a scoreless ninth to get the save.
Nate Montgomery came out of the bullpen in the fifth inning and pitched 1.2 stanzas of scoreless ball to pick up the win in relief of starter
Jon Inman, who came up two outs short of the five innings needed to record the win.
The Pioneers had 11 hits of their own, with four players notching two base knocks each: Matt Donovan, Cooper Larson, Shepherd and Connor Eggleston. Shepherd also drove in two runs and had a triple.
The Boxers next travel to Georgetown, Texas for the Central Texas Tournament, Feb. 12-14. On Thursday, they will take on No. 3 nationally ranked (NCAA Div. III) Emory (Ga.).
