TACOMA, Wash. —
Paisley Hiefield scored a season-high five goals helping the Pacific University Boxer lacrosse team defeat the University of Puget Sound 14-4 at the Lower Baker Field on Sunday in Tacoma.
It was a good bounce back outing for the defending Northwest Conference champion Boxers, who dropped a heartbreaker to George Fox (13-12) on Saturday. With the win, Pacific improved to 5-1 on the season and to 2-1 in the NWC. The Loggers are now 1-5 overall and 1-2 in conference action.
The Boxers opened the scoring on a
Jordyn Godfrey goal one minute and 47 seconds into the contest, and the visitors would make it 4-0 with just a little over 12 minutes off the clock. Pacific would pile it on early, taking a 10-2 lead into intermission.
Mallory Hiefield's goal with 18:15 left gave the Boxers a 12-2 lead and a running clock.
Paisley Hiefield's five goals came on five shots. Godfrey added three scores and four caused turnovers.
April Lanz had three goals as well and four ground balls.
Meg Chapman added a pair of scores.
Kaitlin Ellis played the entire game in the goal for the Boxers, finishing with nine saves.
Callie Holgate led the Loggers with three goals on just three shots.
Pacific will now take a week off from competition, next hosting Redlands on Thursday, March 24. Start time is 3 p.m.
