ResultsNORTHRIDGE, Calif. — The Pacific women's tennis team got off a plane on Saturday and then rolled to a 9-0 win over Mills College to open a four-match southern California swing.
The Boxers improved to 4-5 on the year with the victory in the match played at Cal State University-Northridge. The Cyclones, from Oakland, are now 0-8 in 2016.
Pacific nearly won in bagel formation. They won five of the six singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores. In doubles,
Kaitlyn Lomartire and
Danielle du Plooy won 8-1 at No. 1,
Marissa Hayashi and
Mai Kobayashi won on court two (8-2) and
Danielle Wicks and
Carlee Rhodaback didn't lose a game at No. 3, 8-0.
The Boxers will continue play on outdoor courts for the first time this season on Saturday, taking on No. 22 nationally ranked Tufts (Mass.) at Pepperdine University in Malibu. Start time is 10 a.m.
