LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Boxers dropped two of three doubles matches but rallied to take five of the six singles contests to pin a 6-3 women's tennis loss on Occidental to wrap up a spring break trip to Los Angeles.

The Boxers improved to 5-7 on the season, while the Tigers fell to 4-9.

Pacific fell into a 2-1 hole after doubles. Kanani Kea and Chantelle Baclay won at No. 3 (8-3), but the Boxers lost on court two and Kaitlyn Lomartire and Danielle du Plooy lost a marathon at No. 1 to Keilani Bonis-Ericksen/Sam Farrell, 9-8 (9-7) in the rubber match.

But the Boxers ruled the singles courts, winning in straight sets on courts two through six--du Plooy, Baclay, Kea, Mai Kobayashi and Chealsey Rosebrook. Only on court one did Farrell get the narrow edge over Lomartire again, winning 4-6, 6-3, 10-7.

Pacific will now get some much needed time off before hosting Pacific Lutheran on April 2.
