FOREST GROVE, Ore. — Colorado College scored five goals in the first five minutes of the match to set up a rolling of Pacific University in a non-conference women's lacrosse match on Thursday morning at Hanson Stadium, 20-9.
The Tigers improved to 9-2 with the victory, while the Boxers fell to 7-4.
Three different players found the net for five scores right out of the gate in a game played in steady rain in Forest Grove. Lily Benjamin put a score on the board less than a minute in, and she would assist on the next two scores as well.
The Boxers made a push a few minutes later when
Brittney Bardin got the home team in the scorebook at 24:31, and Pacific would go on to score twice more in the next six minutes--both by
April Lanz, to make it a 6-3 game.
But the Tigers would score the next six goals before the end of the first half to make it 12-3 at intermission, and Emily Carlson's score 40 seconds into the second half put the game on a running clock for parts of the rest of the contest.
Lanz finished with five goals to lead Pacific. Bardin had a goal and two assists.
Steph Kelly had five goals and added three assists to the lead the Tigers. Annie DeFrino chipped in four scores as eight different Colorado College players entered their names in the scoring column.
Colorado College will play again tonight at Linfield. Pacific will return to Northwest Conference action on Saturday, hosting Puget Sound at noon. That match will be played at the Cannery Field, a block and a half east of the Stoller Center.
