FOREST GROVE, Ore. — Pacific scored five times in the first five and a half minutes of the game to settle matters early during a 22-8 lacrosse victory over Puget Sound on Saturday afternoon at the Cannery Field.
The win moved Pacific's overall record to 8-4 and they are now 5-1 in the Northwest Conference. The Loggers fell to 1-11 on the year and to 1-5 in conference action.
Paisley Hiefield scored twice in the first 40 seconds, and added another net-finder less than five minutes later. The Boxers would score 13 times in the first half, taking a 13-5 lead into the locker room at the break.
Meg Chapman and Hiefield would score again early in the second half, taking the stop button off the clock.
Hiefield would finish with five scores and Chapman had four, but the Boxers were led by
Jordyn Godfrey, who had six goals and three assists.
Brittney Bardin added four goals, a season high for her.
April Lanz had four assists on the day as Pacific's 22 goals had assists on 17 of them.
Kerri Smith led the Loggers with five goals and two assists.
Pacific will host first-place George Fox on Wednesday (April 20), at 6 p.m. under the Hanson Stadium lights. The Bruins are 6-0 in NWC play, and defeated Pacific earlier this season in Newberg, 13-12.
