Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lewis & Clark defeats Pacific, 1-0

A converted corner kick by Lewis & Clark in the 61st minute propelled the visitors to a 1-0 win over the Pacific University women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon.

The Boxers (4-2-1, 2-1 NWC) had chances throughout the game with an 11-5 advantage in shots. Pacific sophomore forward Emily Thompson (Orange County, Calif.) had three shots to lead the attack.

The Pioneers (2-5, 1-2 NWC) Caroline Hennes found the back of the net on a service from Rochelle Jordan on a corner kick for what proved to be the game-winning goal.

Thompson and Pacific had an opportunity in the 28th minute that forced the Pioneers to collapse on defense towards the goal. The scramble to the goal by the visitors thwarted the chance for the Boxers.

Late in the contest, the Boxers had a pair of opportunities off free kicks that were saved by the Pioneers' defense and goalkeeper Hannah Osmundson, who made four saves in the shutout.

Next, Pacific will host Puget Sound for a noon kickoff on Sunday, Sept. 25.
