Four Boxers scored in double figures for the second time on the season for Pacific University women's basketball in an 81-62 loss to No. 14 Puget Sound on Friday in Tacoma.
Pacific (3-13, 1-6 NWC) scored 14 of the first 20 points to start the second half to take a 40-39 lead with 5:03 left in the third quarter. It was the first lead by the Boxers since a 7-4 advantage with 6:42 left in the opening quarter.
The host Loggers (16-1, 8-0 NWC) answered the spurt by the Boxers with 12 of the next 19 to close out the quarter and regain the lead for the remainder of the contest. To seal the victory, Puget Sound shot 81.8% (9-for-11) in the fourth quarter.

Sarah Curl (Portland, Ore.) scored 19 points to lead Pacific. Joining her in double figures were
Karli McHone (Glenns Ferry, Idaho) (13 pts.),
Nikki Gilbert (East Wenatchee, Wash.) (11 pts) and
Jordan Oster (Santa Clarita, Calif.) (10 pts.). For Oster, it is a new career high, plus Gilbert handed out five assists in the defeat.
The Loggers also had four in double figures including Alexis Noren, who had a team-high 16 to lead Puget Sound. Elizabeth Prewitt and Jamie Lange each had 13, plus Claire Fitzgerald added 12. Lange had a game-high 11 rebounds and Samone Jackson handed out a game-high seven assists.
The Boxes went into halftime trailing by seven, 33-26, closing out the first half on a 10-4 run when both Oster and Gilbert each hit a 3-pointer.
Next for Pacific is a matchup against Willamette on Saturday at 4 p.m. The contest will wrap up the first time through the rigors of the Northwest Conference for the Boxers.
