FOREST GROVE, Ore. — Matt Kimball tallied his fifth goal of the season, but an Eddie Na brace earned Pacific Lutheran a 2-1 win over Pacific at Ledbetter Field at Hanson Stadium on Sunday.
After a scoreless hour of soccer, Kimball (Tigard, Ore.) opened the scoring in the 71st minute. The senior created space inside the 18-yard box and fired a shot toward the far post from 10 yards out for his fifth goal of the season.
The celebration was short lived as Na collected a pass rom Bennet Bugbee and scored from 18 yards out, tying the game at 1-1 in the 72nd minute.
Na would go on to score the winner in the second overtime period as he converted from the penalty spot.
THE MATCH WAS OVER WHEN... A handball in the penalty area doomed the Boxers as Na lined up in the 105th minute and converted the spot kick.
STAT OF THE GAME... Kimball's goal came on his lone shot on the afternoon.
NEXT UP... Pacific plays host to George Fox on Friday evening, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
