FOREST GROVE, Ore. — The back half of a two-goal performance by junior
Jake Castanha served as the overtime winner for Pacific in a 2-1 home victory over George Fox at Ledbetter Field at Hanson Stadium.

The Boxers (7-4-0, 4-3-0 NWC) opened the scoring in the 16
th minute when senior
Weli Alamillo (Aiea, Hawaii) drove down the right wing and delivered a low cross across the goal mouth and saw Castanha (Santa Barbara, Calif.) tap-in his second goal of the season.

George Fox (4-9-0, 2-5-0 NWC) evened the score in the 52
nd minute after Moises Manon fired a shot from 21 yards out and found the upper corner inside the far post.

Castanha looked to win it in the 65
th minute, but saw George Fox goalkeeper Andrew Phillis make a strong reaction save, before Pacific senior
Leyton Thommasen (Des Moines, Wash.) made a terrific save on the other end of the field a minute later.

Two big chances were saved off the line by George Fox defenders as headers to the near post in the 70
th minute and 83
rd minute were pushed away by the heads of Bruin defenders.

The Boxers would win it in the 98
th minute when Castanha pounced on a ball at the top of the 18-yard box from senior
Matt Kimball (Tigard, Ore.) and drove a low shot inside the far post to earn the three points for Pacific.

THE MATCH WAS OVER WHEN… Alamillo sent a corner toward the front of the goal mouth that found the head of Castanha in the 98
th minute. After Kimball headed Castanha's initial header back toward Castanha at the top of the 18-yard box, the junior calmly slotted a low driven shot to the back post to win the game for the Boxers.

STAT OF THE GAME… Castanha's two goals bring his season and career goal total to three.
