FOREST GROVE — The Pacific Lutheran Lutes topped Pacific 5-0 on Friday evening at Ledbetter Field at Hanson Stadium in Northwest Conference action.

Pacific Lutheran (11-2-0, 8-1-0 NWC) notched its first goal in the sixth minute when Machaela Graddy sent a cross into the box, which led to a Kaylie Rozell goal. Rachel Ross made it 2-0 in the 12th when she snuck behind the defense on a free kick by Liz Griffith.

The Lutes added two more goals in the opening half as Graddy scored in the 15th and Emily Sugimoto headed home a goal off a Kari Mills corner. Griffifth scored in the 53rd to secure a 5-0 win for the Lutes over the Boxers (0-12-2, 0-9-1 NWC).

THE MATCH WAS OVER WHEN... Ross snuck behind the wall on Griffith's freekick, which the Lutes played low and allowed for Ross to send a shot near post for a 2-0 cushion.

STAT OF THE GAME... Seven Boxer field players went the full 90 minutes on Friday evening: junior Mikayla Tucker (Eugene, Ore.), junior Emily Thompson (Orange County, Calif.), freshman Ammel Sawan (Beaverton, Ore.), senior Sadie Parker (Redlands, Calif.), junior Kira Negrete (Lakewood, Calif.), senior Kayla Mizo (Kailua, Hawaii) and junior Adina Goodwin (Tualatin, Ore.).

NEXT UP... The Boxers next head to eastern Washington for a showdown on October 21, at Whitman. The Boxers and Blues are scheduled to kickoff at noon.

HAT TRICK, QUICK FACTS...
1... Two Boxers surpassed 1000 minutes played on the season, as Thompson and junior Devon Medina (Oak Park, Calif.) joined a trio of teammates who had already reached the millennium mark.

2... The five Boxers to record 1000 minutes or more this season are: Goodwin, Mizo, Sawan, Thompson and Medina.

3... Freshman goalkeeper Kali Barber (Centennial, Colo.) made three saves in her second complete game apperance for the Boxers.
