FOREST GROVE — The Pacific Lutheran Lutes topped Pacific 5-0 on Friday evening at Ledbetter Field at Hanson Stadium in Northwest Conference action.
Pacific Lutheran (11-2-0, 8-1-0 NWC) notched its first goal in the sixth minute when Machaela Graddy sent a cross into the box, which led to a Kaylie Rozell goal. Rachel Ross made it 2-0 in the 12th when she snuck behind the defense on a free kick by Liz Griffith.
The Lutes added two more goals in the opening half as Graddy scored in the 15th and Emily Sugimoto headed home a goal off a Kari Mills corner. Griffifth scored in the 53rd to secure a 5-0 win for the Lutes over the Boxers (0-12-2, 0-9-1 NWC).
THE MATCH WAS OVER WHEN... Ross snuck behind the wall on Griffith's freekick, which the Lutes played low and allowed for Ross to send a shot near post for a 2-0 cushion.
