WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Junior
Devon Medina scored the first goal of her collegiate career on Saturday at the Whitman Athletic Fields in the Boxers' 5-1 road loss to the Blues.
The Blues (2-12-1, 2-8-1 NWC) broke the seal on the match with a Jordan O'Roy goal in the 32nd minute.
Sophie Brussell tallied the would-be game winner in the 52nd, while Jessie Mano added a third Whitman goal seconds later.
Medina (Oak Park, Calif.) netted the Boxers' (0-13-2, 0-10-1 NWC) lone goal in the 60th minute off a corner kick assist by junior
Brooklynn Smith (Brea, Calif.).
Whitman added goals in the 70th and 89th minutes to finish off a 5-1 victory over the Boxers.
THE MATCH WAS OVER WHEN... Renee van Bergeijk and Sofia Ellington assisted on Brussell's second goal of the season in the 52nd minute.
STAT OF THE GAME... A defensive midfielder, Medina tallied her lone goal on her only shot of the afternoon.
