TACOMA, Wash. — Senior goalkeeper
Leyton Thommasen notched nine saves, while senior
Matt Kimball converted a penalty kick in the Boxers' 1-1 draw with Puget Sound at Peyton Field on Sunday.
The Loggers (7-4-1, 5-3-1 NWC) tallied the opener in the 55th minute when Ezra Kraus assisted on a Dane Schatz goal.
The Boxers (7-5-1, 4-4-1 NWC) responded in the 71st minute when a Puget Sound foul in the penalty area led to Kimball's sixth goal of the season.
The two sides battled through two overtime periods, with both teams recording two shots on goal over the two extra periods, but Thommasen (Des Moines, Wash.) and Puget Sound goalkeeper Wren Norwood held strong and kept the scoreline at 1-1.

THE MATCH WAS OVER WHEN… Thommasen put the game on ice in the 109th minute when he sprung into action and made a save on a late shot by Kraus.

STAT OF THE GAME… In goal, Thommasen finished the afternoon with a season-high nine saves to earn a point in the conference table for the Boxers.

NEXT UP… The Boxers play host to the visiting Linfield Wildcats on October 21 with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m. at Ledbetter Field at Hanson Stadium.
