FOREST GROVE, Ore. — A first period goal proved the winner for Whitman as the Blues topped Pacific 1-0 at Ledbetter Field at Hanson Stadium on Friday evening.
Whitman (7-7-3, 6-3-3 NWC) scored the winner in the 33rd minute when Ridley Eastland-Fruit slotted in his first goal of the season off an assist by Jacob Fritz.
The Boxers (8-7-1, 5-6-1 NWC) were unable to respond, placing one shot on frame following the Blues' goal as senior
Matt Kimball (Tigard, Ore.) forced a Whitman save in the 52nd minute.
THE MATCH WAS OVER WHEN... Whitman goalkeeper Owen Davis-Bower made a save in the 52nd minute on a shot by Kimball, erasing the Boxers' final chance on frame.
