A 19-3 run early into the second quarter led host Concordia to an 85-51 win over the Pacific University women's basketball team in an exhibition game on Thursday in Portland.
The Boxers (1-9), were led by junior
Megan Wesel (Winchester, Calif.) and sophomore Jeneé Brown, who had 12 and 10 points, respectively. Wesel also had a team-high three assists and senior
Kaela Collins (Snohomish, Wash.) had six points and a team-high six rebounds in the loss.

The Cavaliers (7-4) landed four players in double figures including Erin Higbie, who had a game-high 15 points to lead Concordia.

She was joined in double figures by Bailey Cartwright, who added 12 points to go along with a game-high 14 rebounds; plus, Danielle Hertzog and Kizzah Maltezo, who each had 11 points respectively. Keesha Sarman handed out a game-high eight assists.
After falling behind by 33 at halftime, the Boxers were outscored by just two and held Concordia to 30.9% shooting from the field in the final 20 minutes.
Next, the Boxers will return to the rigors of the Northwest Conference to begin 2018, where they will travel to face No. 9 Whitman (Friday, Jan. 5) and Whitworth (Saturday, Jan. 6).
