Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Boxers Fall to Lewis & Clark, 75-53

Miyah Leith scored a game-high 20 and Lauren Wood added 14 to lead host Lewis & Clark to a 75-53 win over the Pacific University women's basketball team on Monday night in Portland.

Leith had 12 of her 20 in the first half for the Pioneers, who started the game on a 12-4 run as they improve to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in the Northwest Conference. Pacific falls to 0-7 overall and 0-2 in the Northwest Conference in the loss.

Boxers' junior Jenee' Brown (Kailua, Hawaii), who was in double figures for the third-straight game and fifth time on the season, led the Boxers with 14 points. She was joined in double digits by freshman Courtney Carolan (Spokane Valley, Wash.), who added 11; plus, sophomore Alexa Hinkley (Portland, Ore.) had her fourth game with three blocked shots in the young season.

Brown hit one of two free throws with 4:13 left in the opening quarter to cut the Boxers' deficit to four, 14-10. However, a 14-4 spurt by Lewis & Clark to end the first quarter stretched the lead to double digits for the remainder of the half and the contest.

Pacific, who will play 11 of its first 13 games away from home, will return to action after final exams on Saturday, Dec. 16 vs. Pomona-Pitzer in Claremont, California at 2 p.m.
