The Pacific University women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to No. 18 Lewis & Clark on Saturday in Portland.
The host Pios (2-0, 2-0 NWC) took all three doubles matches that were tightly contested. The No. 1 doubles team of
Danielle du Plooy (Cape Town, South Africa) and
Sophia Nishimura (Honolulu, Hawaii) fell by an 8-5 score to Josie Legarza and Kacey Incerpi. The Boxers' No. 2 doubles team of
Kaitlyn Lomartire (Portland, Ore.) and Chantelle Barclay (Lahaina, Hawaii) lost 8-6 to Wiktoria Plawska and Christine Elizaro and the No. 3 doubles team of
Mai Kobayashi (Waikoloa, Hawaii) and
Marissa Hayashi (Hilo, Hawaii) lost by an 8-4 score to Carla Thomas and Caroline Hennes.
The Boxers (1-1) dropped all six singles matches including a tough 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 loss at No. 1 singles by
Kaitlyn Lomartire to the nation's #13 player Wiktoria Plawska.
Next, Pacific will host Puget Sound on Sunday at 1 p.m.
