TYLER, Texas — Amanda Machado hit her first collegiate home run and
Allie Sims picked up her first victory of the season as Pacific opened the day with a victory over Centenary before falling to No. 1 Texas-Tyler in game two at Suddenlink Field.

The Boxers topped Centenary 8-1 in a neutral site game before falling 9-0 in five innings to the nations top team Texas-Tyler in the afternoon.

Pacific visits No. 5 East Texas Baptist on Saturday to wrap up its trip to Texas. First pitch is scheduled for noon (Central Time).

GAME ONE: Pacific 8, Centenary 1
Sims (Puyallup, Wash.) threw a complete game to pick up her first win of the season, while Machado (Folsom, Calif.) drove in three runs and hit the first homer of her career in an 8-1 win over the Centenary Ladies.

After a scoreless first inning,
Trisha Snydar (Lynden, Wash.) reached on a fielder's choice with one out and was bunted to second on a sacrifice from Machado. Two pitches later, Snydar would score the first run of the day on a double to left center by
Keri Togami (Mililani, Hawaii).

Pacific's big inning came in the next frame when
Kaitlynn Donaca (Oregon City, Ore.) led things off with a single through the right side before stealing second. A
Becca Bernard (Roseville, Calif.) bunt single moved Donaca to third. Bernard would steal second before
Morgan Masters (Tenino, Wash.) reached on a fielder's choice to load the bases.

Morgan Bookout (Oregon City, Ore.) ripped a double to the right center gap to plate two runs. After the first out of the inning was recorded, Snydar dropped down a squeeze bunt to score Masters, setting the plate for Machado's two-run bomb to left field, which gave Pacific a 6-0 lead after three innings.

Neither team would score another run until the sixth, when Togami singled to center, advanced to second on a wild pitch and advanced to third on an infield single by
Cindy Chan (Torrance, Calif.). Togami would cross the plate on a ground out by Donaca, putting the Boxers up 7-0.

The Ladies scored their lone run of the game in the sixth, before the Boxers added an eight run in the seventh when Machado singled up the middle to score
Kiara McGinnis (Chicago Park, Calif.) who had reached base on a double to left field.

Donaca, Machado and Togami all finished with multiple hits in game one, while Bookout and Machado both finished with two or more runs batted in.

Sims picked up the win for Pacific, while striking out one hitter in seven innings of work.

GAME TWO: No. 1 Texas-Tyler 9, Pacific 0 (5 inn.)
Chan picked up a pair of hits in game two as Pacific fell 9-0 in five innings to No. 1 Texas-Tyler.

The Patriots tallied seven runs in the second, before adding two in the fourth to secure victory over the Boxers.

Three Pacific pitchers combined for four strikeouts in the afternoon meeting.
