Colorado College won two of three doubles matches and three of the six singles matches to edge the Pacific University women's tennis team, 5-4 on Sunday at the Holce Tennis Courts in Forest Grove.
The Boxers, who fall to 2-5, started the day with a win at No. 2 doubles by the tandem of
Kaitlyn Lomartire (Portland, Ore.) and Johnna Wilson (The Dalles, Ore.). The duo outlasted Annie Zlevor and Simone Hall with a 9-7 win.
Lomartire extended her singles winning streak to two and season record to 7-4 overall with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles. Her seven wins in singles are the most among the Pacific roster.
The other two wins for the Boxers came when
Danielle du Plooy (Cape Town, South Africa) was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at No. 2 singles and
Chantelle Baclay (Lahina, Hawaii) won 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
Next, the Boxers will take Spring Break to prepare for the remainder of the rigors of Northwest Conference play and face UC Santa Cruz in a non-conference matchup on Mar. 30 at 10 a.m. at the Holce Tennis Courts.
