IRVING, Texas — Roya Tahmassebi led the Boxers with a Texas hat trick on the first day of the Boxers' trip to the Lonestar State, which saw Pacific cruise to an 18-2 victory over Dallas at Crusader Field.
Tahmassebi (Mountain View, Calif.) opened the scoring less than two minutes into the game when
Jordyn Godfrey (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) assisted on the freshman's first goal of the day.
At the 26:28 mark, Godfrey got herself into the scoring column with an unassisted tally that put Pacific up 2-0. Godfrey doubled her scoring efforts less than a minute later when
Paisley Hiefield (Portland, Ore.). Godfrey's second goal would turn out to be the game winner for Pacific at the end of the contest.
Pacific would score 10 additional goals to wrap up the first half with a 13-0 advantage over the home side.
In the first half Pacific saw four goals from Tahmassebi and Godfrey, while
Lucy Almao (Orange County, Calif.) and
Brittney Bardin (Albany, Ore.) both tallied two. The Boxers' also picked up a first half goal from Hiefield.
The second period featured a third goal from Almao and a fifth from Tahmassebi, while
Dakota Dantzer (Murrieta),
Mallory Hiefield (Portland, Ore.) and
Meg Chapman (Woodinville, Wash.) all picked up a lone goal.
April Lanz (Oregon City, Ore.) led the Boxers with six draw controls, while
Adrienne Salzwedel (Beaverton, Ore.) notched three saves in the first half of play.
The Boxers wrap a two-game swing in Texas on Thursday at 6 p.m. (CST) against Southwestern University.
