The Pacific University women's tennis fell to Whitworth, 8-1 on Saturday in Spokane, Washington.
The Boxers (2-3, 1-3 NWC) battled in all three of its doubles matches. The Pirates (1-4, 1-3 NWC) won all three matches but all were very close.

Kaitlyn Lomartire (Portland, Ore.)/
Mai Kobayashi (Waikoloa, Hawaii) at No. 2 doubles lost by an 8-4 margin,
Danielle du Plooy (Cape Town, South Africa)/Sophia Noshimura (Honolulu, Hawaii) dropped an 8-5 decision at No. 3 and
Marissa Hayashi (Hilo, Hawaii)/
Chantelle Baclay (Lahaina, Hawaii) were 8-6 losers at No. 1.
In singles, the lone win for Pacific came from Baclay at No. 3 singles, who was victorious by a 7-5, 6-1 margin. For Baclay, it is her second-straight win to improve her record to 2-3 on the season.
Before returning to Forest Grove, the Boxers will face No. 26 Whitman on Sunday in Walla Walla, Washington.
