The Pacific University baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Linfield, 8-4 (game one) and 5-4 (game two) to snap a three-game winning streak for the Boxers.
The Boxers (12-14, 7-13 NWC) found themselves playing from behind in both games. Pacific had seven hits including a pair by
Luke Peevyhouse (Phoenix, Ariz.); plus
Dylan Wright (Gilbert, Ariz.),
Kurtis Kloke (San Bernardino, Calif.) and
Joey Galeno (Auburn, Wash.) each had a RBI. Plus, Kloke and Galeno each had a solo home run in the loss.

The Wildcats broke a 3-3 tie in the 10
th, scoring five runs on seven hits to take an 8-3 lead as they sent 10 batters to the plate. Four of the five runs came around to score with two outs. Offensively, Linfield had 14 hits - three from Ryan Pladson and two more from four-different players including Joey Cassano, Levi Horner-Villa, Brady Rediger and Scott Hilpert.

The Boxers got one of the runs back in its half of the inning with a solo home run over the right-field fence by Galeno for his first homerun of the season.

In the nightcap, the Boxers came up short with a late rally despite scoring three runs in its eighth. Linfield out hit Pacific by a 12-2 margin in the win with Rediger and Cassano each recording three hits in the win. The Boxers' two hits came from
Eli Wisdom (La Grande, Ore.) and
Charlie Dietrich (Aberdeen, Wash.). Wisdom had a RBI single in the eighth and Dietrich recorded a first inning single to account for the two hits.

After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, Pacific got on the scoreboard without a hit in the fifth. Galeno reached on a walk to start the inning, then he moved to second on a
Brandon Henderson sacrifice bunt. Then, Galeno moved to third on a wild pitch and came around to score on a ground out by
Josh Keithly (Mission Viejo, Calif.). Linfield stretched it back to a two-run lead when they scored in the sixth. Then, they added to their lead with two more runs on three hits in the eighth to make it 5-1.

A patient approach at the plate brought the Boxers back into the game in the eighth inning. Pacific scored three times on just one hit and capitalized on a Linfield error. In the inning, they had three walks. The Boxers had runners on first and second before a fly out ended the inning.

The Boxers and Wildcats will wrap up the series on Sunday with a game at noon at Chuck Bafaro Stadium.
