The Pacific University women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 win over Willamette on Saturday in Salem.
The Boxers (6-8, 4-7 NWC) picked up their first 9-0 win on the season and its second win in a row as they wrap up their 2017 season.
For the second time on the season, Pacific took all three doubles matches to start the contest. The Boxers began the day with an 8-0 win at No. 3 by
Marissa Hayashi (Hilo, Hawaii) and
Chantelle Baclay (Lahaina, Hawaii), who improve to 5-2 on the season and 4-2 against NWC foes. The other two doubles teams at No. 1 - Danielle duPlooy (Cape Town, South Africa) and
Kaitlyn Lomartire (Portland, Ore.) and No. 2 –
Johanna Wilson (The Dalles, Ore.) and
Sophia Nishimura (Honolulu, Hawaii) won 9-7 and 8-2, respectively.

In singles, Pacific won all six matches in straight sets to complete the shutout win. The Boxers surrendered just 14 games en route to the 9-0 win. Baclay was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 3 singles and du Plooy won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
Pacific will wrap up the 2017 season on Sunday with a match at nationally-ranked Linfield at 11 a.m.
