FOREST GROVE — Paisley Hiefield scored six goals, while the senior class as a whole netted 14 of the Boxers goals on Senior Day as Pacific topped Puget Sound 18-1 at Hanson Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Puget Sound opened the scoring less than a minute into play, but
April Lanz's (Oregon City, Ore.) goal at 28:15 sparked 18 unanswered goals for Pacific.
Lanz assisted on the Boxers' second goal when she fed
Jordyn Godfrey (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) for Godfrey's first goal of the day.
Lucy Almao (Orange County, Calif.) struck at 26:30 off a free position opportunity, before Hiefield (Portland, Ore.) rattled off three-straight goals. Hiefield's third goal was the 100th goal of her collegiate career.
The opening half saw Hiefield finish with four goals, while Lanz and Godfrey both tallied two each. Almao and
Meg Chapman (Woodinville, Wash.) both recorded a goal each in the first half.
The second half opened with
Brittney Bardin (Albany, Ore.) scoring less than 30 seconds after the whistle, before Chapman and Almao tallied their second goals and Hiefield ran her total up to six.
Kenedie Hemrich (Murrieta, Calif.) tallied at 11:15, while Godfrey completed her hat trick at the 10:23 mark. Pacific's final goal came with 49 seconds remaining when
Mallory Hiefield (Portland, Ore.) scored to give all of Pacific's senior field players a goal on the day.
Lanz tallied three assists, while Godfrey and
Paisley Hiefield both notched two assists each. Chapman led the Boxers with six ground balls and eight caused turnovers, while
Paisley Hiefield recorded five draw controls on the day.
In goal,
Adrienne Salzwedel (Beaverton, Ore.) added to her career win total, while also recording three saves between the posts.
Pacific concludes the 2017 season on Sunday at noon as the Linfield Wildcats visit Hanson Stadium.
