The No. 29 Lewis & Clark women's tennis team defeated Pacific University, 8-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Holce Tennis Courts in Forest Grove.
The nationally-ranked Pios roster features three singles players ranked in the top 50 in the nation, who improve to 10-3 overall and 8-2 in the Northwest Conference. The Boxers fall to 4-7 overall and 2-6 in the Northwest Conference.
The Boxers lone win on the afternoon came at No. 3 doubles when the team of sophomore
Chantelle Baclay (Lahaina, Hawaii) and sophomore
Marissa Hayashi (Hilo, Hawaii) posted an 8-2 win over Chloe Sermet and Natasha Hood. With the win, the duo improves to 3-1 on the season and is their second straight on the season.
Next, Pacific will host George Fox on Sunday, who they dropped a 6-3 decision to last Saturday, at 11 a.m. at the Holce Tennis Courts.
