FOREST GROVE, Ore. — The Pacific women's soccer team dropped its Northwest Conference season opener on Wednesday evening at Ledbetter Field, 1-0 to the visiting George Fox Bruins.
The Bruins (3-1-0, 1-0-0 NWC) executed on a quick-touch pass from Abby Anderson, which set Jayli Myamoto off to score from 12 yards out.
Pacific (0-4-1, 0-1-0 NWC) took four shots on the evening, including an early shot from junior
Emily Thompson (Orange County, Calif.) that grazed the crossbar and a second half header from freshman
Ammel Sawan (Beaverton, Ore.) that was saved by the George Fox goalkeeper.
THE MATCH WAS OVER WHEN... Myamoto received a lead pass from Anderson and slotted a shot by Pacific's freshman goalkeeper
Saya Brown (Bothell, Wash.).
STAT OF THE GAME... Brown made two saves in her first home conference match of her career.
NEXT UP... Pacific heads to Tacoma, Wash. on Saturday for a noon kickoff against the No. 23 Pacific Lutheran Lutes.
