Trio nets goals in win over Raiders

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — A penalty kick goal in the 62nd minute by senior Matt Kimball proved the game winner as Pacific topped the Milwaukee School of Engineering 3-2 at the Lower East Field, home of the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs.

The Boxers (1-1-0) opened the scoring in the 16th minute when senior Weli Alamillo (Aiea, Hawaii) opened his account for 2018, but the Raiders (1-1-0) responded in the 24th minute when a shot by Sean Tabbert deflected off a Pacific defender and found its way into the net.

Sophomore Robert Nurmi (Gig Harbor, Wash.) answered MSOE's opening goal less than 20 seconds later on an assist from Kimball (Tigard, Ore.).

The second period saw Kimball tally from a spot kick in the 62nd minute. Kimball's goal would stand to be the game winner after an own goal from Pacific marked the Raiders' second goal of the day.
