Despite a late aggressive offensive attack by the Pacific men's soccer team, the Boxers came up short in a 1-0 loss to host Whitworth on Saturday afternoon.

The Boxers (2-10-4, 1-8-3 NWC) had two shots blocked and another two fall wide in search of an equalizer in the defeat.

The Pirates (5-10-3, 4-6-2 NWC) ended a scoreless contest in the 67^th minute as Jose Bautista picked up a rebound after a shot by teammate Zanskar Blair.
 
Prior to the game-winning effort by Bautista, Boxers' goalkeeper Brock Jones had a clean sheet with six saves to his credit. Jones made five of his seven saves in the first 45 minutes as the two teams were scoreless at the halftime break.

The Boxers' Woodey Greer had a header attempt in the 14^th minute that was saves by Pirates' goalkeeper Jesus Nunez, who finished with two saves and recorded a shutout.
