A pair of first half goals proved to be the difference as host Whitman defeated Pacific, 2-0 on Sunday in Walla Walla, Washington.
The Blues (8-6-2, 7-3-2 NWC) ended a scoreless contest in the 40
th minute as Adam Joss found the back of the net just past Pacific goalkeeper
Brock Jones. Later in the half, Jadon Bachtold headed in a crossing pass from Jacob Barsher in the 43
rd minute.
The Boxers (2-10-4, 1-8-3 NWC) had five shots and Jones made 15 saves in the loss for Pacific.
Danny Fazio led the attack with two of the shots for Pacific.
Jones had a busy day between the posts for Pacific, recording nine saves in the first half and six more in the second half. His Whitman counterparts Owen Davis-Bower and Jack Filipponi led a Blues' defense that kept the Boxers off the scoreboard. Davis-Bower made two saves in the shutout.
The Boxers close the regular season on Friday, Nov. 2 as they will host George Fox at 7 p.m. for Senior Night.
