The Pacific University volleyball team won its second-straight, straight-set match as the Boxers swept Linfield, 25-17, 25-17, 25-16 on Saturday night.
The Boxers (17-7, 10-4 NWC) notched its 10
th Northwest Conference win for the second-straight season on the night. Pacific hit at a .320 clip in the win as eight-different Boxers had a kill in the win.
The Wildcats (6-16, 1-13 NWC) were limited to a .088 hitting percentage in the loss. Lori Cimmiyotti had eight kills and Audrey Hyem had four service aces to lead Linfield.
Pacific led from start to finish in the opening set as junior MIlana Ivkovic had seven kills as the Boxers hit .333 to win the opening set. The second set saw the Boxers cool off a little with a .222 hitting percentage but five-different Pacific players had a kill including freshman
Elika Unti (pictured) had four kills and three blocks in a reserve role for the second-straight 25-17 win. The third set saw the visitors take an early 5-1 lead until five-straight points by the host Boxers put Pacific ahead 6-5. Another 5-0 spurt by Pacific, later in the set, put the Boxers ahead for the remainder of the set. Five more kills by junior
Karlee Duncan led a Pacific attack that hit .419 in the set to complete the straight-set win.
Next, the Boxers will wrap up the 2018 season with a match on Friday at Lewis & Clark at 7 p.m., followed by Senior Night on Saturday at 5 p.m. as Pacific will host Puget Sound.
