An early deficit proved to be too much for the Pacific women's soccer team, who dropped a 5-0 decision to host Linfield on Saturday.
Trailing 3-0 early in the match, the Boxers (1-10, 1-6 NWC) would come back with two shots on net which the Wildcats (6-3-2, 3-2-2 NWC) would make saves on to keep Pacific off the scoreboard.
Emily Thompson would be the one leading the charge putting one shot on net in the 23
rd and another one later in the 28
th. Thompson's two shots on goal and four shots total would end as team highs for the Boxers.
The second half saw Pacific's substitutes get their share of shots, as two of the three attempts on goal would come from the newly entered Boxers.
Beginning the half trailing 4-0,
Elizabeth Blair would have her shot attempt in the 54
th minute saved. The Boxers' next attack would come off the foot of
Gabby Glaser in the 63
rd, who had subbed on just ten minutes prior.
The teams' final attempt on goal would come off of a corner where
Holly Bartholomew, who had subbed on to start the second half, would have a try in the 80
th minute saved by the Linfield keeper.
The Boxers would get two more shots off before the game ended, one from Thompson in the 88
th minute missing high, and the other via
Devon Medina missing wide in the 89
th minute before ultimately dropping the match 5-0.
