Zach Richardson and Justin Martin of Multnomah each scored 49 points to lead the host Lions to a 147-124 win over the Pacific University men's basketball on Saturday night in Portland. Martin made 14 3-pointers and Richardson added 13 3-pointers to lead the host Lions.Â
The Boxers (1-1) for the second-straight night had five players in double figures as they adjust to the new system of first year head coach
Justin Lunt.
Davis Holly scored a team-high 21 to lead Pacific. Joining him in double figures were
John Rigatti and
Andy Isokpehi, who each had 16 and
Brevin Brown and Terrence Glider each added 12 in the loss.
The Lions (5-0) were led by the efforts by Richardson and Martin to pace Multnomah. Ben Grandle had a double double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, plus Brett Blackstock added 27. The unselfish Lions were led by an 18-assist effort by Briggs Young as Multnomah, who had 39 assists on 51 field goals and shot 54.3% from the field in the win.

Despite the loss, Pacific shot 49.5% from the field and outrebounded the Lions by a 65 to 41 margin. The Boxers eclipsed the 100-point mark for its second-straight game and first time in the program's NCAA Division III era.

Next, Pacific will take a trip to California for the UC Santa Cruz Classic as they will face Chapman on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 3:30 p.m.
