Three-different Boxers scored 13 points as the Pacific University women's basketball team dropped a 52-46 decision to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the home opener on Sunday afternoon.
The Boxers (1-2) held a 42-35 lead after the first three quarters after trailing by six, 29-23, at halftime.

The Athenas (2-1), who were playing their third game in three days, ended the game on a 16-2 run in the win. Gloria Bates and Lindsey Cleary paced the visitors with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Behind six at halftime, Pacific started the second half on a 12-0 run that included a pair of 3-pointers by Jones. The run put the Boxers ahead 35-29 with 5:08 left in the third quarter. Pacific ended the quarter with a five-point spurt for a 42-35, heading into the final 10 minutes.
In the opening minute of the fourth quarter, Carolan hit a 3-pointer that put the Boxers ahead by a game-high nine points, 45-39 with 9:19 to play. Then, the duo of Bates and Cleary brought the visitors back and managed to put the Athenas ahead 47-46. The Athenas sealed the win, making five of its final six free throws for the come-from-behind win.
