The Pacific University women's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision against host Pacific Lutheran University on Saturday afternoon.
Pacific (2-3, 0-3 NWC) fell behind 2-1 after the three doubles matches to begin the contest. At No. 2 doubles, Sophomores
Sophia Nishimura (Honolulu, Hawaii) and
Johanna Wilson (The Dalles, Ore.)
[pictured] would secure the Boxers only doubles match with an 8-4 win. Senior
Mai Kobayashi (Waikolo, Hawaii) and freshmen
Callie Oyama (Hilo, Hawaii) would narrowly fall at the No. 3 spot for the Boxers with a 9-7 loss.
On the singles side, the Boxers and the Lutes (2-7, 1-2 NWC) would split the six matches, 3-3. Pacific would get wins from junior
Chantelle Baclay (Lahaina, Hawaii), Wilson, and Oyama.
Next, the Boxers will remain in Tacoma to play Puget Sound tomorrow at noon.
