The Pacific University women's tennis team lost by an 8-1 margin to host George Fox on Friday night.
The Boxers (2-7, 0-5 NWC) were involved in a tightly contested match throughout the night against the Bruins, who improve to 4-7 overall and 2-4 in the Northwest Conference
Just a few points decided the outcome a pair of the doubles matches. The Boxers' No. 1 team of
Chantelle Baclay and
Marissa Hayashi lost by an 8-6 margin and the No. 2 doubles team of
Sophia Nishimura and Johnna Wilson dropped an 8-5 decision.
Nishimura accounted for the lone win for Pacific with a 7-6, 4-5 (ret.) win at No. 2 singles. Hayashi won the second set in a 3-6, 6-2, 0-6 loss at No. 4 singles for the Boxers.
Next, Pacific will host Linfield on Saturday, Apr. 7 at the Holce Tennis Courts at 9 a.m.
