A two-goal game by
Roya Tahmassebi and 14 saves by
Ariel Watanabe were not enough as the Pacific lacrosse team dropped a 15-2 decision to Whitman on Friday night in Forest Grove.
The Boxers (0-7, 0-4 NWC) forced 19 turnovers and had 14 shots in the loss. The two-goal effort by Tahmassebi is her second of the season after she scored five times in the 11-10 loss to Puget Sound on March 10.
The Blues (4-3, 2-1 NWC) were led by the hat trick by Lindsay Schwartz and five of her teammates had multiple goals including Sage Ali and Nina Moore, who also had two assists. Goalkeeper Katie Whittingham had six saves in the win for Whitman.
After Whitman had built a 12-goal lead, Tahmassebi sliced through the Blues defense and scored her first of two goals with 23:20 left in the match. Nearly eight minutes later, she carved her way for an opening on a free-position shot to beat Whittingham to the lower right of the cage for the goal.
