Nationally-Ranked Linfield Defeats Pacific, 9-0

Box Score The Pacific University women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to visiting Linfield on Saturday at the Holce Tennis Courts.

The Boxers (2-8, 0-6 NWC) battled throughout the match against the league leading Wildcats. Linfield began the match with a sweep of doubles to start the contest.

The Wildcats, who are currently ranked No. 27 in the latest ITA national poll and No. 55 in the latest ITA West Region, demonstrated why they were nationally ranked as they improved to 10-1 overall and 5-0 in the Northwest Conference.
 
Linfield won all six of the singles matches. In three of the six singles matches, the opening sets were decided by a close 6-4 margin. All six victories for Linfield in singles were straight-set matches.
 
Next Saturday, Pacific will host Lewis & Clark at 11 a.m. at the Holce Tennis Courts.
