Host Springfield College scored a goal in each half en route to a 2-0 win to spoil the season opener for the Pacific University Women's Soccer team on Friday in Springfield, Mass.
The Boxers (0-1) had four shots in the contest including a shot on goal by
Holly Bartholomew in the loss. Pacific goalkeeper
Saya Brown (pictured) had eight saves in the loss.
The Pride (1-0) picked up a goal in the 21
st minute by Amanda Wright and Sydney Fackrell added an insurance tally in the 54
th minute. Springfield College goalkeeper Bridget O'Connor made a save on the Bartholomew shot en route to the shutout. The Pride posted a 17-4 advantage in shots in the win.
The Boxers will wrap up the weekend in the consolation game of the Springfield College Invitational on Saturday with a 2 p.m. contest against Eastern Connecticut State.
